THE POPE ON GAY MARRIAGE

POPE BENEDICT XVI.
“ “There is…a need to acknowledge and promote the natural structure of marriage as the union of a man and a woman in the face of attempts to make it juridically equivalent to radically different types of union.
Such attempts actually harm and help to destabilize marriage, obscuring its specific nature and its indispensable role in society. These principles are not truths of faith, nor are they simply a corollary of the right to religious freedom. They are inscribed in human nature itself, accessible to reason and thus common to all humanity.” ”
Basically, he is saying that gay marriage is a “threat to peace.”
Also, he believes that gay marriage is “insidious and dangerous” and a “threat to humanity.”
PROTEST.
LGBT activists gathered together during the Pope’s weekly address in St. Peter’s Square.
They carried signs in different language, voicing out “Marriage for all” and “Homophobia = death” and whatnot.
The police seized the signs of the protestors who entered the square.
MORE ON THE POPE’S SAY (Extends to the UK).
In the UK, a Coalition moves to allow same sex marriages to be staged in churches and civil ceremonies.
In response, the Pope warns David Cameron (UK’s Prime Minister) that allowing such would “damage marriage and families” and is “an offense against the truth of the human person.”
In other words, he says it’s not natural and won’t yield a normal family, disrupting the whole family structure, which he values.
He says that preserving status quo on conservative marriage should be supported by everyone, not only Christians, who are concerned about family dynamics.
